Bengals Tecmo Super Bowl Season - Week 1

In Week 1 action, the Cincinnati Bengals kicked off the 2013 season against Brandon Marshall and the Chicago Bears. The Bears got on the board early with a trick reverse play to Marshall. But the Bengals would strike back with a scoring drive of their own, capped off by a touchdown run by BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

The Bears would go on to record a safety and a field goal against the Bengals, making the score 12-7 Chicago late in the first half. But a pair of sacks by Rey Maualuga and newcomer to the team James Harrison kept things close going into halftime.

In the second half, it was a seesaw matchup between the two teams. Green-Ellis and Louisville Alum Michael Bush would trade rushing touchdowns giving the Bengals a slight 21-19 edge going into the final drive of the game.

The Bears would go the length of the field in the game's final minute and even got in the red zone with time to run three plays. Instead of going for the sure thing (and the win) with a field goal, Chicago goes for it all leading to a game-ending sack against Jay Cutler by Rey Maualuga.

Final score in Chicago: Bengals 21, Bears 19.

At the end of Week 1, the Bengals sit atop the AFC North Division standings at 1-0-0.
